There is currently a big trend for cellars or wine stores to be turned into beautifully lit features, as part of a kitchen or some other living space. And that makes the lighting of them extremely important. Here are four top tips that can help you create dramatic lighting features without destroying a wine cellar’s precious contents:

A lot of wine fridges emit a cold blue light which can kill the rest of the room’s atmosphere. Instead, create a wine store with LED lights which give out an attractive warm white light which will complement your lighting scheme.

Traditional lights tend to emit a lot of heat which is likely to damage wine over a period of time, so choose the latest energy-efficient LEDs which produce a fraction of the heat.

For ‘display cellars’ make sure that all lights are dimmable, so they can echo the mood you want to create in the rest of the room.

Bottles and the symmetry of a simple wine rack lend themselves really well to simple lighting techniques and they make a great way to add some instant drama.
