Trade body the Bathroom Manufacturers Association (BMA) has launched its inaugural Sustainability Awards, to recognise the industry’s progress on environmental issues.
The awards have been created to celebrate achievement and acknowledge the importance of sustainability in the bathroom industry.
BMA Chief Executive, Tom Reynolds, said: “This is about giving a well-deserved boost and celebrating all those who are changing things for the better, transforming the bathroom sector’s environmental credentials.

“It’s the first time we have organised an awards like this and we’re really excited to establish it and grow it in future years as the bathroom industry breaks new ground in terms of sustainability.”
The awards span five categories, including Carbon Reduction, Water Efficiency, Circular Economy, Workplace Initiative and Sustainability Champion.
A panel of specialist and high-profile judges have been selected for each of the categories, including editor of Kitchens & Bathrooms News Philippa Turrell.
Judges will be looking for “quality, impactful and inspirational” examples of sustainability in action.
Each entrant will complete a 400-word submission explaining their sustainability improvement, along with a short supporting video which can be self-shot footage.
Open to full BMA members and affiliates, the Sustainability Awards have an entry deadline of August 27, 2021.
It comes at a time when environmental issues are gathering pace, with the Government having recently announced plans for a mandatory water label.
