British manufacturer Kelda Showers scooped the Sustainable Tech Company of the Year, as part of The South Coast Tech Awards 2023.
It was presented the honour for its Air-Powered showers, which use the principles of fuel-injection technology to minimise water and hot water energy consumption in showering.
The company recently participated in a recent domestic shower trial, supported by Barratts Developments and the Energy Saving Trust.

It revealed the showers reduced water and hot water energy use by 55% and lowered total household carbon emissions by 10%, reportedly without compromise on performance.
Marketing director at Kelda Showers Paul Ravnbo-West said: “We are on a mission to deliver the highest quality sustainable showers that use the least amount of water, by helping to reduce hot water use and lessen carbon emissions.
“We will soon be moving this into the house-building sector. It’s a global opportunity for us to make a real difference by working with UK national house builders to help them meet their targets on carbon emissions and reducing water usage.
“Our Air-Powered technology is very scalable so there are many more opportunities ahead.”
This latest honour follows on from Kelda Showers scooping the Sustainable Innovations Competition earlier in the year.
