Lakes undertakes significant investments to enhance service

To provide customers with assured supply, Lakes Showering Spaces increased its stock availability to overcome global supply chain issues.

Bolstering its investment in stock capacity, Lakes appointed a new board of directors and implemented a management structure to accelerate and sustain its growth.

Bev Brown, who joined the Gloucestershire-based brand over 10 years ago as finance director and fulfilled the role of managing director, occupies the dual role of finance director and chairman.

Managing director Mike Gahir and sales director Darren Bedford were joined by supply chain director Chris Thain.

A general manager for Lakes’ subsidiary factory has also been appointed.

Mike Gahir commented: “The team at Lakes have been a key part of the development of the company over the years, and the board changes are designed to enable us to continue to build on the fantastic results already achieved.

“Even though recent global events and market dynamics have not been favourable for businesses generally, here at Lakes we are in an excellent position to continue to grow and reinforce the brand’s strong position in the markets where we operate.

“As a manufacturer, we are glad to share our strong industry position and continue to invest in areas that are important to our customers. They rely on our high levels of stock availability, and it provides them with confidence when they are making their buying decisions.”

Speaking about stock availability, Chris Thain added: “Increasing our stock will inevitably result in our customers spending less time sourcing, waiting for, and collecting products.

“During the last 12 months, our stock availability has been running at more than 99% on a consistent basis, a level we will now continue to operate at.

“The service levels we have provided have been at a frequently high level and we have been able to maintain delivery lead times despite the wider challenges in global supply chains.

“We are always looking for ways to save customers valuable time and at Lakes we believe having high levels of product availability will help customers battle the ongoing supply chain issues many businesses have faced following the pandemic.”
