National kitchen retailer Magnet has unveiled Rehome, a used kitchen trade-in service and the launch of a sustainable kitchen furniture range.

Magnet unveils Rehome trade-in and sustainable kitchen

Operated by Used Kitchen Exchange, Rehome allows customers to ‘trade in’ their pre-loved kitchen when ordering a new one from Magnet.

Initially trialled across three of its stores, including its reeently redesigned Wimbledon showroom, the scheme is free of charge.

It has been designed as a “guilt-free” solution to disposing of a pre-loved kitchen, that isn’t at the expense of the environment.

Depending on their condition, old kitchens will either be converted into biomass (grade C wood), refurbished for affordable charity resale, or stripped for parts.

Customers will also receive money back, which they can put towards a new Magnet kitchen.

In addition, Magnet has unveiled a new sustainable kitchen collection – Mindful World which has been created around biophilic design, with Scandi inspired Nordic Craft and Hoxton matt frontals.

Mindful World boasts recycled sea plastic handles through to FSC- sourced timber drawers and energy-efficient LED lights.

Head of Product Sustainability at Magnet Amanda Douglas-Slater said: “Mindful World was inspired by the feeling of connecting with our world, bringing natural, sustainable, and textual richness to the centre of our homes.

“At Magnet, we continue to do better, and this range does just that. With its recycled sea plastic handles, ethically sourced and carbon neutral worktop, energy efficient LED lighting and the world’s first natural quartz composite sink, this range was designed with our planet in mind by bringing it back to basics without compromising on design.”

In addition, Magnet has unveiled Warley, a contemporary take on a Shaker Kitchen, named after the founders of the movement, and available in three finishes of Midnight, Charcoal and Pebble.
