Group sales director Leigh Leather takes helm

Bathroom supplier Roper Rhodes has announced Leigh Leather as managing director, succeeding Paul Roper who has spent 30 years working for the company.

Currently group sales director, Leather has been with the company for over seven years and has 25 years’ experience in the bathroom sector.

He started out in the industry with Kohler Mira in 1994 before joining Grohe UK as head of national accounts in 2005, before becoming sales director and then regional vice president sales & marketing of Grohe South-East Asia & Pacific in 2006.

In 2009, Leather rejoined Kohler Mira as business director for Kohler UK before being promoted to oversee the Kohler UK and Kohler Daryl businesses in 2010, and then joining Roper Rhodes.

Paul Roper commented on Leigh Leather’s promotion: “It is of great comfort to me that my replacement is an internal candidate and his appointment assures that the company will continue to be run with the same values and ethos that Mark Roper and I have tried to maintain.”

He will now focus on the Roper Family Charitable Trust, working with charities and good causes in and around the Bath and North East Somerset region.

Sons of the founder Brian Roper, Mark Roper will remain company Chairman and Paul Roper remains a non-executive director and major shareholder.
