Sylmar Technology has just introduced the Calcutta White solid surface worktop, with veining to replicate natural stone, which is claimed to be an industry first.
It is joined by three Minerva Haze colours, Travertine Haze, Silver Haze and Concrete Haze, which brings the existing Minerva solid surface worktop offer to 18 decors.
All are available in its standard range of worktops, splashbacks and upstands.

Measuring 25mm thick, they are supplied with factory machined face and edges, can be offered with pre-fabricated features, such as sink modules.
Calcutta White is also available as a island and breakfast bar, measuring 3050 x 1240mm and 3050 x 940mm respectively.
Managing director of Sylmar Technology Peter Holt commented: “Two years’ ago, what we wanted wasn’t possible in solid surfaces.
“We saw the trend shift towards striking veining flowing throughout the surfaces, the desire for materials to be influenced by the natural world, the lure of marble and paler tone to complement decors within the modern home and we had a vision to create this as a solid surface.
“We are proud to announce what I believe to be an industry first, we have successfully created a Calcutta marble design in a solid surface worktop.
“It looks like marble, it feels like marble, yet it comes with none of the disadvantages.
“It’s an aspirational, beautiful product that has now been made accessible through the technology, expertise and ambition at Sylmar.”
