The growing trend for traditionally patterned, encaustic-style tiles has been encapsulated by the Moons collection, launched by tile specialist Ceramique Internationale.
These colourful 200x200mm porcelain floor and wall tiles by Italian manufacturer Marco Corona, are available in six patterns, and all have the worn effect of hand-printed encaustic cement tiles.
All six patterns are available in shades of blue and white, with two also available in beige and terracotta tones.

The 200mm tile size can be grouped as four tiles to create a repeating 400mm x 400mm pattern.
A ‘random mix’ selection is also available to create a Mediterranean-style statement floor or wall.
With an anti-slip rating, Moons can be used for floor areas and, as they are glazed porcelain, don’t require sealing chemicals or special maintenance.
Director of Ceramique Internationale Peter Vann said: “This style of tile has been around for many centuries and has evolved since then.
“Encaustic-style patterns have been growing in popularity in the last few years and the Moons collection is an extremely versatile one that can be used all over the home.”
Peter Vann offered his view of the key tiling trends in 2019.
