British bathroom bathroom Thomas Crapper has introduced a matte black cistern – the Classic 814.
Available in low-level and high-level versions, the metal cast classic 814 cistern comes with a choice of brassware finish – polished brass, nickel or chrome.
In addition, the lettering and outline of the cartouche can be painted to the customer’s individual requirements.

The cistern can even be personalised with the customer’s own worlds cast into the front, with popular choices including family names and property names.
The low-level 814 cistern features the Thomas Crapper “Beer Pull” handle, while the high-level option uses a classic pull and chain.
Managing director at Thomas Crapper Paul Dwyer said: “If there was one product that epitomises Thomas Crapper, it would have to be the 814 hand-cast cistern. It is an iconic piece and a style classic.
“Making it available in black means customers can enjoy this classic with a modern edge and it meets the growing trend for incorporating black into bathroom design.”
Thomas Crapper’s hand-cast cisterns are also available in White, British Racing Green and “Crapper” Red finishes, primed for painting, or in polished brass or aluminium.
Since 2016 the brand has expanded its offer from 50 to 250 bathroom products, spanning period designs and more contemporary looks such as the matte black finish cistern.
Sold in 70 outlets, Thomas Crapper reports an increase of retail sales by 50%.
