Kitchens and bathrooms sales slowed in year-on-year sales for builders merchants, according to the latest Builders Merchants Building Index (BMBI) report, published in December.
However the BMBI also reported kbb sales have shown month-on-month and quarter-on-quarter growth.
The flat merchant market had total value sales up 0.2% in October 2020, compared to the same month in 2019.

Aside from Landscaping and Timber & Joinery Products, all other categories were down with Plumbing, Heating & Electrical (-10.5%) the weakest. Kitchens & Bathrooms sales were down by 6.5%.
Overall sales in August to October were up 1.5%, compared with the same three months in 2019, with one less trading day this year.
Kitchens & Bathrooms sales fell 4.6% over the same period, compared with the previous three months (May to July 2020), however the category led the way with sales up 41.6%.
As a whole, total merchant sales fell by 1.8% in October, compared to September. However, five product categories sold more in October, including Kitchens & Bathrooms (+1.7%).
The BMBI Index in October was 126.4, with Timber & Joinery Products strongest at 141.1, and Kitchens & Bathrooms reported at 119.3.
