Bathroom retailers are showing greater interest in sustainability, when considering product, reported cladding manufacturer Showerwall at trade show Kbb Birmingham.
The manufacturer of wall panelling now provides over 100 designs in its range, which spans laminate through to composite and acrylic materials.
However, product manager of Showerwall Steph Harris said one of the most commonly asked questions on the stand, this year, aside from installation techniques and waterproof integrity, was environmental credentials.

She commented: “Sustainability has been a key question. I don’t think a lot of people thought bathroom retailers would be interested in sustainability, but a lot of people have been coming onto the stand and asking what we’re doing that’s sustainable.”
Harris added although the stand displayed information on the sustainable credentials of its products, visitors had been asking for Showerwall to talk them through it, stating “It’s encouraging.”
Showerwall used Kbb Birmingham as a launch platform for its range refresh, with decors that mirrored the look and feel of marble in its Laminate Collection.
It also introduced printed designs to its Acrylic and Custom Collections, replicating wallpaper and tile patterns.
These were shown on a stand divided into five zones highlighting interior trends derived from nature, escapism, indulgence and luxury, as well as fun and funky designs.
Under the theme “Bringing interiors to life”, the stand had been created to inspire bathroom retailers, so they could recreate the looks in their own showroom.
Harris said the stand had received over 200 visitors each day, which exceeded the expectations of the company, and hailed the event as a “phenomenal show”.
