Bathroom manufacturer Duravit has prematurely extended the contract of CEO Stephan Tahy for five more years until 2027.
It is due to the success of the last financial year, with the company achieving a record turnover of €604million, and conviction that Tahy, with the executive board, will build on Duravit’s accomplishments.
Stephan Tahy was named CEO of the family business in 2020, which operates in more than 130 countries and employs a global workforce of around 7,000 people.

Prior to the recent extension, his employment contract was due to run until 2023.
“I’m delighted about the early contract extension and the show of trust in me,” Tahy commented.
He continued: “Only by working together can we achieve our ambitious goals. That is why we want to take advantage of the fair winds and shape the necessary changes together.
Duravit reported a year-on-year increase of 28% last year and Tahy explained his bold ambitions for the company: “Despite the difficult circumstances on the global economy, we’re closing in on the billion mark.”
In the first quarter of 2022, the company generated a turnover of €172.1million, with growth of 22.9% on the same period in 2021 which stood at €140million.
Additionally, Duravit has embarked on a climate mission to become climate neutral, globally, in 2045 without offsetting or trading CO2 emissions.
