The Hotel Interiors Experience event (HIX) will be revealing trends shaping hotel design at the Business Design Centre. London, from November 16-17, 2023.
Under the guiding theme of ‘a room with a point of view’, it will reveal how the slow movement, adaptive resuse and pop-up will influence hospitality spaces.
From historic conversions to interiors that encourage a slower pace of life, HIX will feature hotel design ideas that will showcase the evolution of the industry.

According to the HIX, the slow movement is making further inroads in the hospitality sector with brands and projects created as places for guests to stop the clocks.
It reaches into the interest in minimal living, quiet-quitting and tech-limiting spaces, as well as elements such as sustainability, service and aesthetic style.
In addition, hotel designs at HIX will also reflect the movement towards adaptive reuse, as the show claims the majority of projects will be designed and constructed within existing buildings.
It reports the adaptive surge will offer a shortcut to creating experiential and immersive experiences and designers will need to find new ways to ensure multi-generational usability.
HIX will also reflect the trend of the pop-up, following the likes of Noma closing its restaurant in favour of a roaming model, taking a two-month residency at Ace Hotel in Kyoto, Japan.
It means designers will now be considering how a space can be as adaptable as possible for function, or how serve a secondary purpose within the context of a partner-occupied interior.
