Bi-annual bathroom and kitchen trade exhibition Kbb Birmingham, being held at the NEC from March 6-9, has been acclaimed as the best show since the recession in 2008.
The show, which reportedly has taken 40% more floorspace and seen 30% more exhibitors take a stand than its previous outing in 2014, has seen suppliers beat targets for display and account openings.
Marketing manager of Merlyn Industries Edel Nicholson exclaimed the company had “smashed” its sales targets, each day, by more than 200% and said the show had been “really worthwhile.”

Her view was re-iterated by sales and marketing director of Frontline Bathrooms Michael Sammon who commented on day two: “The show has been the best since the recession hit seven years’ ago…The economy has changed and companies have got a little bit more money to invest back into exhibitions. I think it has been a positive show so far.”
Certainly KBB Birmingham has attracted a lot of visitors, with queues of people waiting to get into the show before its opening on day three.
Head of UK operations at Rotpunkt Matt Phillips had already reported his stand had received retail visitors from all geographical areas of the UK.
Although official visiting figures are yet to be confirmed, most exhibitors seem to agree visitor numbers have been larger than recent years. However, exhibitors have also claimed the numbers have not outweighed the quality of attendees at the show.
