UK-based ceramic and porcelain tiles supplier Johnson Tiles has opened its second retail outlet, with an expansion into the North of England.

Johnson Tiles MBO with closure of UK factory

According to the company, the expansion into Wakefield, West Yorkshire, signifies a “major milestone” for its new UK management team following a recent MBO, and underscores its commitment to serving the northern market with floor and wall tiles.

The company already has a physical footprint at Material Lab in Central London and an outlet in Stoke on Trent.

Its Wakefield retail outlet will open on June 20, creating three jobs and providing popular ranges, alongside clearance and end-of-line options for professional tradespeople and DIY enthusiasts.

The new retail outlet is located at Unit 7 Monckton Road Ind Est, Denby Dale Road, Wakefield, West Yorkshire, WF2 7AS.

To celebrate the opening, the company is giving the first 150 customers a complimentary tub of Palace tile adhesive.

“According to the 2024 Houzz and Home UK report, 49% of homeowners plan to renovate their home this year, and we expect the bathroom and kitchen to remain a key priority as homeowners look to enhance their most used living areas.

“While our ranges are all available online, we wanted to ensure customers who prefer to see and touch products in a retail environment prior to purchasing, have the option to do so.”

Established since 1901, Johnson Tiles has over £20 million of product in stock for next day delivery.

“This is the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the business as we look to expand our reach and bring our exceptional design and quality to even more customers across the UK,” Rich Kelsall added.
