Italian porcelain and ceramic tile manufacturer Florim Ceramiche has joined with Matteo Thun to created SensiTerre tiles, which interpret clay.

SensiTerre celebrates the 10th anniversary of limited-edition terracotta vases “Venere Bianca”, designed by Matteo Thun and Benedetto Fasciana in collaboration with Bitossi.

Available in a palette of six colours, designers can choose from Cotone, Sabbia, Rosato, Mattone, Amaranto, and Carbone to represent natural shades of clay.

In addition, there are four surface finishes with Naturale and Grana across the palette and Cannettato and Rigatino in Sabbia and Marrone only.

The Naturale surface is matte, while Grana is inspired by cocciopesto”, a building material used by the Ancient Romans for waterproof flooring and walls, consisting of crushed brick fragments and fine lime-based mortar.

All surfaces are suitable for flooring and cladding, except Cannettato, which is recommended for vertical wall use only.

SensiTerre comes in small and large formats, allowing designers to mix and match sizes, colours and textures.

The collection is also part of the Carbon Zero project featuring Carbon Neutral surfaces that offset all CO2 emissions throughout their lifecycle.

Florim Ceramiche is a Benefit Corporation and certified B Corp, with SensiTerra made using an environmentally conscious process in a factory where 100% of raw production waste and waste water are recovered.
