Direct emission reductions will be prioritised, and any residual emissions will be neutralised in accordance with SBTi criteria to reach net-zero emissions.

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) develops guidance to help companies set greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets aligned with limiting global warming to 1.5ºC and transitioning to a net-zero economy.

Neolith has also taken relevant steps in both endorsing the SBTi and earning certifications that reinforce the company’s efforts towards achieving its full decarbonisation goal.

CEO of Neolith Group Jesús Ayarza commented: “We are honoured to have our science-based emission reduction targets approved by the SBTi.

“This truly demonstrates our absolute commitment to fully decarbonise our company by 2050 and positions us on the correct path to achieve it.

“From its inception, Neolith’s sustainability agenda has always been a priority, and we will continue to work towards achieving this goal.”

Neolith Group has committed to reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across the value chain by 2050.

Neolith commits to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 50.4% by 2032 from a 2022 for the near-term targets and reduce absolute scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions by 90% by 2050.

The company has obtained Cradle to Cradle Certified Bronze certification for most of its products, improved its position in the EcoVadis Gold seal and renewed its Zero Waste certification as excellent.

In addition, Neolith has been recognised for sustainable products in a series of UK awards and has created a Sintered Stone & Sustainability CPD seminar, approved by the Royal Institute of Architects.
