The company employs all of its multi-trade installers with a mission to grow the next generation of talented professionals and has recently taken on two apprentices.

Managing partner of Adroit Services Emma Butt, said: “We were inspired by the focus on apprenticeships and the panel discussions hosted by Simon Acres Group and BiKBBI at InstallerSHOW in 2024 to double our planned intake of apprentices and accelerate our efforts to address the skills gap in the KBB industry ourselves”.

Each step in Adroit Services’ apprentice journey will be filmed in a bid to show KBB businesses how to navigate the skills gap and build a stronger workforce for the future.

The docuseries is supported by multiple local educational bodies such as the East Midlands Apprenticeship Ambassador Network, as well as organisations within the KBB industry including the Kbsa.

Simon Acres, managing director of Simon Acres Group, said: “As a driving force for apprenticeships within the KBB and construction industries, our partnership with Adroit Services will provide real-life insights into the apprenticeship journey to encourage employers to embrace this route when hiring new talent or upskilling existing teams.

“The project is in association with Senstec who will be supporting the series with insights from various members of its team over the coming months.

“We’re also working with several other contributors to bring in different perspectives, ensuring that all key questions are answered directly.

“Our thanks go to Ideal Standard, Geberit, the Kbsa, Bucks College Group, Abingdon and Witney College, Buckinghamshire Skills Hub and Buckingham Business First, who joined us on our most recent days of filming to provide valuable information and support.”

Managing director of Senstec USA Mark Conacher added: “We are proud to support Simon Acres Group’s apprenticejourney project as it aligns perfectly with our values at Senstec.

“The docuseries will shed light on the apprenticeship process, helping employers and apprentices alike, and encourage businesses to overcome the apprehension of taking on an apprentice.

“Apprenticeships are vital to the installation industry, providing structured training, setting benchmarks, and laying the foundation for lifelong careers, as I experienced myself. “Employers have a responsibility to nurture young talent and address the industry’s lack of apprenticeship uptake.

“Through association with this project, SENSTEC continues with its mission to drive progress and support the next generation of skilled professionals.”
