Methven renews Carbon Neutral Status for third year

According to the company, it underscores Methven’s dedication to managing its environmental impact and promoting sustainable practices, across its operations, in line with PAS 2060:2014 guidelines.

The renewal reflects Methven’s efforts to minimise Scope 1 and 2 emissions through a carbon management plan.

It includes transitioning to renewable energy sources, optimising vehicle use, and offsetting residual emissions.

The company has offset 82 tonnes of carbon equivalent emissions for the reporting period through the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS)-certified “Renewable Solar Power Project” in India, supporting its global move to clean energy.

Head of product and marketing at Methven Emma Foster commented: “The renewal of our Carbon Neutral Status is a clear demonstration of Methven’s commitment to sustainability.

“It reassures our customers that they are working with a brand that actively reports its carbon output and invests in meaningful environmental actions.

“We remain dedicated to leading the way in sustainability within the shower and tapware industry.”

Methven’s carbon neutrality journey began with its baseline assessment in 2021.

Since then, the brand has continued to refine its sustainability strategy, including transitioning the motor fleet to hybrid vehicles, reducing non-essential travel, and extending the use of renewable energy across its operations.

In addition, Methven called on the bathroom industry to encourage consumers to use water more efficiently, during Water Saving Week
