Baumatic administration may mean rewriting KBSA rulebook
Trade association, the Kitchen, Bedroom, Bathroom Specialists Association KBSA has admitted its shock at a corporate member Baumatic entering administration and implied it may mean changes to its rulebook.
CEO of the KBSA, Grahame Ball said: “It was a surprise as it was quite a large brand in appliances, with a multiple million pound share in the appliance market. But as we all know, as history repeatedly shows, that moving out of a recessionary economy is as dangerous a time as any during a recession and having see larger kbb companies go under during the last five years, I guess we have to be realistic – and expect more problems as the economy recovers.”
The KBSA financially vets its retail members prior to accepting them into the trade association, however there is no similar practice for its corporate members. However, in the light of this administration, this may be liable to change.
