Explaining the AI technology at the launch, head of product line taste Europe Electrolux Group Christopher Duncan said: “The key insight is that 80% of consumers go online for recipes. This is a major source of inspiration for them.

“With AI Taste Assist, we’re not automatically translating the recipes into the settings for the oven, we are optimising the settings to deliver tastier and healthy results, for example by adding steam.”

The new Kitchen Range also features CookSmart Touch interconnected interfaces, across ovens, hobs and built-in coffee machines, which are designed to be intuitive, help the user conserve energy with tips, and which adapt to the user and learn.

An Assisted Dishes function gives step-by-step guidance on how to cook a complete dish and can also guide the user which accessories to use.

Christopher Duncan highlighted how digitalisation also play a major role in becoming sustainability, with 80% of carbon from appliance usage.

He pointed out AEG had  upgraded all its Ecoline range so models have “best in class” energy efficiency and offer Eco Guidance Tips, saving energy and consumers money.

According to the company, by using the Eco tips consumers can save up to 50% energy with hoods and 30% across all appliances.

Christopher Duncan offered the example “Our engineers have developed cooking cycles that make use of the residual heat in the cavity of the oven. It helps save up to 20% of energy.”

He also pointed to the use of vibration sensors in a hob to know when a pan has reach boiling, exclaiming: “Did you know that 20 seconds of over boiling is the equivalent energy as a full charge of a smart phone?”

The cooking line-up was completed by the SaphirMatt induction hob with scratch-resistant glass, which was previewed last year.

Design lead product line taste at AEG Thomas Gardiner said: “We looked at kitchen trends and at the furniture industry, how technology has become embedded in our lives and the rise of the domestic chef always looking for the next challenge to level up their cooking.

“We took everything we learned and turned it into the new AEG Kitchen Range.”

In addition, IFA showcased its latest range of smart laundry appliances from the Eletctrolux brand, which includes washers washer dryers and tumble dryers with energy saving features.

At its IFA presentation, VP of Germany and Austria Michel Geisler expressed the company heritage in laundry and  highlighted external awards.

The 6000 Series washing machines, 9000 Series Absolute washer dryer and 8000 Series Absolute Care tumble dryer, have received award accolades with the 9000 series tumble dryer, said to “set a new gold standard”.
