Anthony Barker has joined wall coverings fabricator Optidek as co-owner and sales director, following a career in kitchen retail.
Prior to joining the company, he worked as design and showroom manager for nine years at Sheen Kitchen Design in West London.
Barker’s career in the kbb industry started at CP Hart, where he worked for 10 years, before he moved to Deco Glaze as sales director for three years where he met and worked with Paul Robertson, who is now managing director of Optidek.

Barker then changed career direction to become a kitchen and bathroom designer and developed an understanding of the importance of sales representation from supplier businesses to their retail partners.
In his role as Optidek’s sales director, Barker is responsible for the regional expansion of the South-West based business, which has a network of account managers across London and the South.
He will also introduce new brands to the company’s expanding product offer, while managing director, Paul Robertson, will focus on the day-to-day running of the manufacturing and fabrication arm of the business from its factory headquarters, just outside Bath.
Commenting on his new position, Anthony Barker said: “I am so pleased to be working alongside Paul Robertson again, and I look forward to bringing Optidek’s unique product offer to a wide range of KBB specialists, architects and interior designers throughout the UK.
“As a glass, stone and quartz fabrication business with a network of dedicated account managers, it is our intention to delight our customers with our growing range of premium wall covering products, whilst focusing on delivering an outstanding service to them.”
Previously known as Opticolour, Optidek was originally established in 2002 as a specialist manufacturer and installer of glass splashbacks and wall coverings.
Having recently entered into a partnership with Cosentino to fabricate and install 4mm Dekton Slim cladding, the rebrand marks this expanded offer.
