Astro Lighting is officially presented the Queen’s Award for Enterprise
British manufacturer Astro Lighting was presented with the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade by a representative of Her Majesty the Queen. The Lord Lieutenant of Essex, Lord Petre presented the UK’s highest business accolade to managing director John Fearon.
The award acknowledges Astro lighting for its continuous sales achievements, which have resulted in sustainable growth. The company has produced double digit growth with sales up 31% for the last financial year and its turnover is expected to reach £12m.
Founded in 1997 by John Fearon and design director John Bassant, Astro Lighting has become a worldwide supplier to high-end residential and hospitality sectors.

Fearon said: “I am extremely proud to receive this prestigious Award.” He continued: “It recognises the hard work and expertise of the Astro team in the UK and abroad and everyone is looking forward to celebrating the result of this.”
James Bassant added: “It is an honour to be recognised for our commitment to innovative design and high quality manufacture which allows Astro to compete on a worldwide scale.”
Sintered stone manufacturer Neolith has launched Calacatta Roma and Cappadocia Sunset, inspired by nature and classical architecture, and for use in kitchens or bathrooms walls, floors, in gardens or facades.
They belong to The New Classtone and Fusioncollections which interpret marble and natural stone, respectively, and boast Neolith’s antibacterial NeolEAT technology.
Inspired by Ancient Rome, Calacatta Roma (pictured top) pays homage to Italian Carrara marble, with ochre and grey veins in a white background.
While the Cappadocia region, in central Turkey, with its rock formations formed by volcanoes and underground cities, has inspired Cappadocia Sunset (pictured below).
Just like all of Neolith’s surfaces, Calacatta Roma and Cappadocia Sunset are resistant to heat and atmospheric conditions, are 100% recyclable, and do not contain added quartz to their formulation.
