Home improvement retailer B&Q is set to continue expansion of its B&Q Local stores outside of London, with a high street unit due to open in Brighton, East Sussex.
The retailer launched the high street format in 2023 and has eight stores in London, as well as one in Surrey.
These include units at Holloway Road, Tooting, Wandsworth, Wood Green, Harrow, Streatham, Palmers Green and Camden, as well as Staines-upon-Thames.

Located in North Street, the Brighton B&Q Local store is currently under construction in the premises of a former Poundland, but signs and branding are now in place.
According to the B&Q website – diy.com – “The new B&Q Local stores provide you with everything you expect to find in a bigger B&Q, just closer to home, including inspiration for your next project from the kitchen, bathroom and living area displays.”
B&Q Local stores stock around 3,500 product lines, however consumers have access to the full range of 30,000 B&Q products using home delivery and next-day Click + Collect.
The B&Q Local stores also offer specialised services including kitchen and bathroom planning, alongside free paint mixing, the Rug Doctor, key cutting and WEEE recycling.
