Football legend Chris Kamara MBE has opened the Portsmouth depot of trade kitchen supplier Howdens, following a refurbishment.
One of the company’s founding depots, opened in 1995, it has been redesigned with three design rooms, where tradespeople can work with homeowners and the Howdens team to create their project.
In addition, the revamp includes a greater number of kitchens now on display, with 12 roomsets, and increased stock holding.

It forms part of a store refurbishment program, which will see 90 depots revamped with the new look and format by the end of 2023.
Chris Kamara MBE, who unveiled the plaque at the opening, is also working with Howdens on its Game Changer Programme, where it is supplying new kitchens to hundreds of grassroots football clubs across the country.
The first of the Game Changer Kitchens was also unveiled by Kamara while he was in Portsmouth at Hawks Community Youth Football Club.
Head of trade property at Howdens Mark Churchill said: “Having football legend Chris Kamara officially open our new revamped Portsmouth depot is fantastic, and I know that staff and customers really enjoyed the day.
“We are continually looking at ways to improve our depots for our trade customers and homeowners to provide a better experience.
“It is important that tradespeople can visualise what their kitchens could look like, as well as experience the many different features we offer with expert help on hand.
“Our new depot format delivers on this, as well as providing faster delivery on designs and stock.”
