Chairman of bathroom supplier HiB Warren Ginsberg has been awarded an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire), as part of this year’s Kings Honours.

Ginsberg has been a figure in the bathroom industry for more than 50 years, having begun working as a salesperson at Garfield Glass in London.

He moved through the ranks to sales director, managing the sales operations in the UK, the Netherlands Germany and France.
During his time at Garfield Glass, Ginsberg was key in the business’s growth, opening accounts including Block and Quayle, now known as B&Q, where he introduced Garfield Glass-Mirrorwall mirror tiles, drilled and bevelled mirrors.
He was also instrumental in establishing accounts with DIY retailers such as Texas HomeCare, Marley Retail, Dodge City, Timberland, Homebase, Wickes, Focus Homecare and Do it All.
Following the sale of Garfield Glass in 1990, Ginsberg set up his own business and launched HiB in 1991.
He introduced the heated pad for reducing condensation on mirror and cabinet surfaces and supported technological advances including colour temperature changing illumination, USB and toothbrushing charging technology and wireless power for illumination in bathroom cabinet mirrored doors.
HiB now operates from its HQ at Inspire House in Tamworth, with offices in London and in 2020, and the company was presented The Queens Award for Enterprise: Innovation in 2021.
“I am deeply honoured to receive this MBE for dedication to home improvement,” said Warren Ginsberg.
“It’s a culmination of a lifetime’s work, and a wonderful acknowledgement of not only my efforts but those of the HiB team.
“We’ve always strived to push the boundaries of innovation and sustainability and I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved.
“I’m excited for the future as we continue to lead the way in bringing innovative new products to the UK bathroom industry.
Warren’s son and HiB’s CEO Robert Ginsberg expressed his congratulations: “My father’s contribution to the industry and our company has been nothing short of extraordinary.
“His leadership and vision over such a long time, has driven HiB forward and this MBE is a well-deserved recognition of his achievements.
“We are immensely proud of Warren and grateful for his continued commitment to excellence.”
