Bathroom manufacturer Ideal Standard has released a new RIBA-certified CPD course, titled “specifying bathrooms for a sustainable, design-led future”.
Created for designers and architects, the CPD focuses on the specification, legislation and design considerations when looking at residential bathrooms, highlighting how these influences affect decision making through the design process.
In particular, this CPD covers safety, sustainability, accessibility, and hygiene, alongside the relevant Document M and Document G legislation covering the access to and use of buildings.

Cold-water use, water efficiency, hot water supply and sanitary requirements for the bathroom are also included, as well as a focus on the main water regulation certification bodies, NSF, KIWA, and WRAS.
For those in charge of specification on developments, the certifications also highlights sustainable properties, with BREEAM and WELL being the leading certification schemes for sustainability, and safety across the built environment.
