With a new central theme of Rethinking Tomorrow: Circular and Biobased Solutions, furniture production and interior design show Interzum returns to Cologne.
The four-day show takes place from May 20-23 and will focus upon transitioning to a circular economy, extending product use through reuse, repair, refurbishment and recycling.
It will also consider biobased solutions from regrowing sources, making environmentally friendly alternatives to petroleum-based products.

Both approaches aim to minimise a product’s ecological footprint and promote sustainability.
Director of Interzum Maik Fischer commented: “By bringing together the two approaches – the circular economy and biobased materials – the world’s leading trade fair for furniture production and interior design will advance the development of product innovations that are both long-lasting and produced from sustainable sources.”
Spanning 11 halls, the exhibition will be divided into three topic areas: Materials & Nature, Function & Components and Textile & Machinery.
Materials & Nature will showcase sustainable resources and materials, including woods, veneers, decorative surfaces, laminates and edging.
Fittings, lighting systems and semi-finished products for furniture and furniture components will be featured in Function & Components.
While fabrics, leather, adhesives and upholstery materials, as well as machinery, will be the focus of the Textile & Machinery section.
The vast majority of exhibiting brands will be from Europe and include: Blum, Cleaf, Hafele, Hera, Hettich, Kesseböhmer, Salice, Schüco Interior Systems, Swiss Krono, Rehau, Titus and Vauth-Sagel.
As part of the event, a supporting programme of talks will pick up on the central theme across the Interzum Trend Stage and three interzum forums.
In addition, The Boulevard North will be transformed into the Rethinking Resources Boulevard with solutions for sustainable furniture production.
Maik Fischer concluded: “The supplier sector will gather here in Cologne to present, discuss and experience the solutions of tomorrow at first hand.
“In 2025, Interzum is set to be an unmissable event once again.”
