Dutch kitchen manufacturer Keller has made a series of investments to increase the production capacity of its Bergen op Zoom factory by 30%.

Keller increases production capacity by 30%

It includes the installation of the largest piece of equipment ever introduced to the facility.

At the centrepiece of the new development is a production line spanning nearly an entire factory hall, integrating a dual-edge laser saw with dual-edge laser edge banding and large-scale board cassette handling.

This technology has been installed to increase efficiency and plays a role in Keller’s sustainability initiatives, such as reaching Level 5 on the Co2 Performance Ladder, helping to eradicate waste, increase flexibility, and maintain the company’s quality standards.

Alongside this, Keller has rolled out a new fully-automated tall and midi-height assembly line, designed to further streamline production processes and reduce manual handling.

The company has also expanded its use of collaborative robots (Cobots) to handle repetitive sorting and lifting tasks, with more set to be introduced in the near future.

Head of sales for Keller UK Tim Spann commented: “We are excited to be entering the next phase of growth and development at Keller Kitchens.

“These investments underscore our commitment to meeting the increasing demand for high-quality, sustainably produced kitchens, both for retail and contract markets.

“Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do, and these latest advancements are a testament to our dedication to achieving operational excellence while reducing our environmental impact.”
