Candidates can now enrol on the course up to September
Buckingham New University has extended the enrolment deadline of its part-time Foundation Degree in Kitchen Design up to September 2014.
Although Kitchens & Bathrooms News asked how many people were currently enrolled on the course, Buckingham New University didn’t provide an exact figure. Instead, a spokesman for Buckingham New University said: “We have seen a healthy interest in the part-time Foundation Degree (Arts) Kitchen Design and have offered a number of places to students.”
They explained why the deadline for enrolment for the course had been extended: “As the course is in its inaugural year, there are kitchen design and industry employers who may have only recently heard about the course and so we are extending the deadline for applications so that more people have the chance to benefit from this innovative opportunity for study.”

In a bid to support the course, kitchen manufacturers and retailers have committed to try to find and fund candidates for the course. The five companies include Blum, Callerton, Sensio, AFG and Roundhouse.
At the May Design Series, two course places had already been offered, with a third place in discussions. The course requires 10 people to enrol for it to be viable to run.
