Kitchen retail franchise Kutchenhaus is sponsoring British adventurer James Ketchell as he prepares to sail around the world in a Class 40 yacht named “Mindset”.
It is the third time Ketchell will circumnavigate the globe having cycled around the world in 2013 and flown a small aircraft around the world in 2019.
Ketchell will embark on a 30,000 nautical mile journey from Gosport, UK on September 22nd (weather permitting), aiming to complete the voyage in approximately nine months.

The adventure will be split into six legs: Gosport to Lanzarote, Lanzarote to Cape Town, Cape Town to Melbourne, Melbourne to Uruguay, Uruguay to Antigua and then Antigua to New York.
During the sail his main mission is to take young people on a virtual journey around the world, inspiring them to try new things, believe in themselves and develop the right mindset.
Ketchell will live stream videos to classrooms around the world, making content available to schools via worksheets on his website, as well as deliver talks in local schools in the ports he is visiting.
During his expedition, National Oceanography Centre (NIC) ambassador Ketchell will also deploy an Argo float after his port of call in South Africa.
Argo floats provide data to understand the status of the ocean environment and its resources today, and for years to come.
Furthermore Ketchell’s challenge is also raising funds for two charities: Baton of Hope (suicide awareness and prevention) and Kindled Spirit (supporting victims of human trafficking)
Marketing manager for Kutchenhaus Nadine Kimani commented: “Our business believes strongly in empowering people and then supporting them to achieve great things, and that’s exactly what James is doing.
“For us, it could be a new franchise partner opening their first showroom, or a member of our Support Centre team stepping into a new role – either way we love to see people succeed when taking on new challenges.
“James epitomises this by pushing himself and raising awareness for great causes whilst doing so.”
Nadine continued: “With this voyage, he is supporting the development of young people and a sustainable future, something that everyone can get behind. We’re a very proud sponsor and will be following his journey closely. We wish him the best of luck.”
James Ketchell was first introduced to the Kutchenhaus team at its 20th anniversary conference in Portugal, where he delivered a motivational talk.
Regarding the Kutchenhaus sponsorship and his upcoming journey, James commented: “I am extremely grateful for the support from Kutchenhaus, these types of undertakings would not happen without corporate partners like Kutchenhaus.
“I am looking forward to sharing the journey with young people around the world and raising funds for two wonderful charities.
“This project will not be easy, but by breaking it down and taking it, day by day I believe it’s very much achievable.”
