Global bathroom company Roca Group has acquired Idral, an Italian brassware manufacturer that specialises in taps for public and semi-public spaces.
According to Roca Group, the acquisition complements its existing lines and strengthens its taps division, enhancing its position in the market for public and communal bathrooms.
With 50 years of heritage, Idral specialises in electronic, self-closing and pedal taps, as well as smart taps, such as self-closing thermostatic cartridges and sensor taps.

The family-owned company is one of a group of 87 manufacturers located in the area around Milan, which is claimed to represent 20% of Italy’s national production of taps and fittings.
Roca Group has been assisted in this transaction by KPMG and Baker McKenzie. Idral Group has been assisted by Alisea Corporate Finance and by Tonucci & Partners.
It follows on from Roca Group’s recent acquisition of Swiss brand Nosag and Polish manufacturer IneoCare, which specialise in the manufacture of accessible bathrooms for people with reduced mobility.
According to Roca Group, this reinforced its position in Central Europe and in the over-65s market, a growing segment which it reported accounts for 20% of Europe’s population.
Both companies are currently only present in the Swiss market, but Roca Group plans to extend the sale of the products to all markets where it operates.
