Investment into additional line, monitoring and packaging
Showering surround manufacturer Roman has invested £250,000 into its production facilities, over the last 12 months, with the addition of a line, weighbridge, monitoring system and 3D printer.
An extra line has been added with a camera that takes a picture of each product, such as its latest Quadrant enclosures, complete with instruction manuals, screw packs and instruction manuals before the lid goes on and is passed along an automatic conveyor.
The most recent addition of the horizontal weighbridge then scans the label on the packaging to ensure the weight relates to the correct product on the box to help ensure no missing items before dispatch.

In addition, each line in the Roman factory now has software for real time product with monitoring screen to display statistics for production targets.
Finally, to enhance the security of its packaging, Roman has invested in a packaging machine which makes bespoke boxes for its product and a 3D printer to create mouldings to keep glass in place when in transit.
Managing director of Roman, David Osborne commented: “We are constantly improving our product quality checks and manufacturing processes and our investment of £250,000 has ensured our quality levels have further been enhanced to deal with our increased volumes. Our substantial investment has and will continue to improve our service, efficiency and quality.”
