At its in-house exhibition, RWK & Kuhlmann Küchen presented its first collection developed for Villeroy & Boch under exclusive license.

The Löhne-based traditional company recently took over the responsibility for the development, production and international marketing of the range of kitchen furniture.

Launched onto the retail market in 2020, Villeroy & Boch Kitchens were manufactured by German kitchen manufacturer Stormer.

A spokesperson from Villeroy & Boch commented: “The partnership with Störmer was terminated in June 2023 in the context of insolvency proceedings at Störmer.

“A new licence agreement was then signed with RWK Kuhlmann Küchen GmbH in December 2023.

“As a manufacturer of high-quality, designer furniture made in Germany, RWK Kuhlmann is a perfect fit for the Villeroy & Boch brand and product portfolio.”

Family-run RWK has been established since 1923 and manufactures its own Kuhlmann brand and commissioned furniture for European furniture stores.

It employs 120 people and exports 50% of production to over 30 countries worldwide.

Managing director of RWK & Kuhlmann Küchen Ralf Marohn commented: “We succeeded in impressing Villeroy & Boch with our expertise and quality in manufacturing, development and logistics.”

At the same time, he sees this as a commitment to Germany as a production location. “The fact that a global brand such as Villeroy & Boch has chosen a local partner is a positive signal for the entire region.”

The kitchen designs pick up on classic motives and materials from the history of Villeroy & Boch, which goes back more than 275 years, including ceramic surfaces and interpretations of the “Mettlacher Platte” (Mettlach tile).

The Villeroy & Boch kitchens will be available from selected specialist dealers from December 2024.
