British manufacturer Stoneham Kitchens is celebrating its 160th anniversary by planting 2,000 trees, over the next year, to re-establish lost woodlands in Europe.
Established in 1864, Stoneham Kitchens started making rungs for ladders and staircase balustrades in 1864 before manufacturing fitted kitchens in the late 1960s
CEO of Stoneham Kitchens, Adrian Stoneham commented: “We source all our timber sustainably, but we wanted to go a step further for our 160th anniversary.

“So, we are working with One Tree Planted to support their projects in Europe where forests have been lost.”
Now in its fifth generation, Stoneham holds The Royal Warrant and manufactures all its kitchen furniture at its premises in Sidcup, Kent.
To further celebrate its anniversary Stoneham has also expanded its kitchen portfolio.
It includes a bespoke ‘picture frame’ for triple or double appliances, which acts as a decorative surround, can incorporate LED lighting, and deisgned to match the colour and detail of worktops or splashbacks.
In addition, the bespoke manufacturer has introduced three kitchen ranges.
These include Chart an in-frame kitchen range with a 55mm frame, Hadlow with 10mm frame and Matfield, with the appearance of an in-frame kitchen but with a single façade.
“Stoneham has been a privately-owned family business for over a century-and-a-half, providing bespoke furniture for customers across the UK, including the Royal Family” explained Adrian Stoneham.
He continued: “Our workforce of 75 staff is highly skilled and knowledgeable, producing high-quality, stylish kitchens that our customers love, and which stand the test of time.
“Our broad manufacturing capability permits bespoke and often unique cabinetry production, which means our designers can enhance and personalise designs to suit discerning clients.
“That’s why Stoneham is still thriving and continuing to grow today. We are very proud to reach this important landmark in our history.”
Stoneham Kitchens are available from over 36 appointed retail specialist centres across the UK.
