De Dietrich returns to UK and joins Beckermann and NordMende in the KBBG
Extending the number of suppliers for its members, the Kitchen Bathroom Buying Group (KBBG), part of Der Kreis has added Beckermann Kitchens, De Dietrich and NordMende appliance brands to its offer.
Beckermann has been creating kitchen furniture for 120 years and is based in Cappeln in Germany, employing around 200 staff. It exports around 65% of its kitchens to neighbouring European countries, as well as Asia and the USA.
The French De Dietrich and Irish Nordmende appliance brands are both offered through sole importer Dublin-based KAL Group, which trades as AB Distributors in Northern Ireland.

It signals a return for De Dietrich, following the company’s acquisition by Cevital, in 2015 and subsequent closure of its UK subsidiary.
The NordMende brand was launched seven years’ ago in Ireland and is positioned to offer “value for money that returns a decent margin for the independent kitchen specialist”.
NordMende boasts retro-style refrigeration, as well as a freestanding dishwasher that uses 5.5 litres of water. KBBG managing director Bill
Miller spoke about Beckermann joining the association: “The addition of Beckermann to our portfolio of exciting brands is indeed of great benefit to our members. THE KBBG is growing steadily and we are continually on the lookout for more quality brands to join our ranks.”
He continued, stating AB Distributors was “a great new addition to the KBBG supplier portfolio.” Miller explained: “With all products in stock, a 48-hour delivery service and a three-year parts and labour guarantee available on both brands, this new partnership with AB Distributors will further strengthen the position of the independent kitchen specialist in competing with the multiples.
“The choices for KBBG members and their customers are now better than ever. We are very pleased about the continued expansion of the group and extremely optimistic about the future for the independent kitchen retailer.”
