For the first time, a UK Student is named the winner
For this first time, a UK student has been named a winner of the global competition Electrolux Design Lab with Jordan Lee Martin taking the prize.
The theme for this year’s competition was ‘Healthy, Happy Kids’ and looked for ideas across cooking, fabric care and air purification.
Jordan Lee Martin won with his Bloom concept, which bridged the gap between digital and practical education by encouraging good kitchen habits in a fun way.

He was chosen by an expert jury from out of 1,500 entries, across 56 countries, and was presented the trophy at the Kattilahalli Venue in Helsinki, Finland.
As part of the award win, he has scooped a six-month internship at an Electrolux Global Design Centre and a cash prize of €10,000.
The Second prize was awarded to Dominykas Budinas of Lithuania for Airshield, a baby strolled that create a pure microclimate, who received €6,000, with the third prize given to Joengbeen Seo of South Korea for the QH combined air purifier and hula hoop.
Winner of the People’s Choice Award from online voting went to Larissa Trindade from Brazil for Weaver, who scooped €2,000.
