Brassware supplier Vado has joined the Builders Merchants Federation
High-end shower, tap and bathroom accessories supplier Vado has joined trade association, the Builders Merchant Federation (BMF), as a member. It joins more than 450 merchants and suppliers to the merchanting industry, which have combined sales of more than £12.5bn and employ over 80,000 people.
The Somerset-based company was established in 1988 and has recently celebrated 25 years trading. It has a turnover of £30million and employs 160 people. Vado UK was recently acquired by the Norcros group, which also owns Triton and Johnson Tiles.
Vado UK managing director, Jim Williams commented on its BMF membership: “We are delighted to be a part of the BMF. Merchants have been a key part of our growth in recent years and are definitely key to our future plans. BMF membership will help us in our aims to get closer to our merchant customer base, understanding their needs and positioning ourselves to better service them.”

Managing director of the BMF John Newcomb, said: “I’m delighted that Vado sees the benefit of BMF membership to help them develop stronger relationships with merchant customers. The formation of the specialist Plumbing & Heating Sector, earlier this year, has given a real impetus to that section of the market with the Federation.”
The association recently held its first Plumbing & Heating group meeting, which it stated was attended by 23 merchant and supplier companies. John Newcomb of the BMF addded: “The value of participation will undoubtedly multiply as more specialists, like VADO, get involved.”
