Chosen by Wallpaper editor-in-chef Sarah Douglas, and following on from the launch of a palette inspired by moods, the latest colours represent three architecture styles of the 20th Century.

These span Belgium Minimalism, Brazilian Modernism (shown) and American Postmodernism.

Douglas looked to the tonal ranges employed by Belgian minimalists, splashes of primary colour in Brazilian modernism and colour-pop of chromatics in American postmodernism.

Referencing the Belgian minimalist movement in design and architecture, the Belgian colour palette is inspired by the works of architects Glenn Sestig, Vincent Van Duysen and Luc Tuymans.

It incorporates soft colours, such as light blues, linen-like pastels, stones and slate greys to reference raw and untreated materials.

Brazilian Modernism is inspired by the works of architects Lina Bo Bardi, Marcio Kogan and Oscar Niemeye with a spectrum of deep, rich colours such as greens, earth tones, grassy blues and concretes.

Completing the palettes, the work of Frank Gehry, Philip Johnson, Michael Graves and Robert Venturi motivated the creation of American Postmodernism.

It has been created to be confident, industrial, dramatic and contrasting, with monochrome tones and pops of colour, spanning steel, graphite, grey, black, fused with gold, blue and green.

These colour palettes join over 200 existing RAL colours, which can be applied across any of Victoria + Albert Baths’ baths and basins in a gloss or matt finish.
