Adding to its range of kitchen appliances, Smeg has introduced a Blast Chiller to preserve fresh food, aligning with healthy eating.

Smeg | Blast Chiller

The Blast Chiller quickly lowers the temperature of foods, which the manufacturer reports maintains the quality and flavour of fresh food, and reduces waste.

Reducing the temperature of cooked foods to 3˚C in 90 minutes, Smeg states it extends the shelf life of food up to 70%.

It can keep fish at an ultra-low temperature of  -18˚C for 96 hours, which can neutralise bacteria and parasites.

According to Smeg, it opens up the possibility for savouring raw fish at home.

In addition, the Blast Chiller can quickly cool large quantities of food, which is useful when batch cooking, as well as and leaven bread dough using a minimum amount of yeast.

Alongside the food functions, it can also chill wine and drinks to a temperature ready to be served

Made in-house in Italy, the Blast Chiller offers automatic programs, a full colour TFT display and touch guide and aligns aesthetically with Smeg ovens, with interchangeable grids with Galileo ovens.

Thanks to the SmegConnect App, users can select, customise and start programmes of the Blast Chiller directly from smartphones or tablets.
