2025 Outlook | Bathe Indigo | “Adopt strategic spending strategy”

In 2024 there was a lot of uncertainty in the consumer’s mind with the Bank of England rate being at 5% most of the year.
The latest budget implemented saw a decrease in the rate, finally giving consumers some encouragement to begin (or continue) their home improvement projects in 2025.

Personally, I am feeling positive about the opportunities 2025 may bring.
Bathe Indigo, which has now been open for just over six months, has experienced a steady stream of activity.
While it has felt busy, we lack historical sales data for comparison since we are a new business.
Nonetheless, industry feedback suggests the home improvement sector is on an upward trajectory.
This optimism is reflected in our recent bookings which have seen discussions around bathroom projects due to begin in January 2025.
These developments are promising and hint at a stronger start to the New Year.
Uncertainty still alive
Despite these positive signs, challenges remain for retailers, particularly due to the recent changes in business rates.
This shift is likely to keep uncertainty alive into 2025.
For Bathe Indigo, although we are fortunate to have bathroom projects lined up for the early part of the year, we are cautiously awaiting the April budget.
We hope the Government refrains from introducing additional financial burdens that could put pressure on businesses like ours.
Until then, our priority will be to keep costs under control and closely monitor the Labour government’s proposed future plans.
Rising costs are another pressing concern for many businesses, leaving some retailers worried about the possibility of losing valuable staff who have been instrumental in their growth.
Strategic spending
My advice to fellow retailers and showrooms is to adopt a strategic approach to spending.
Focus your budget on initiatives that are proven to deliver results for your business.
At Bathe Indigo, we will be reviewing our own budget carefully, ensuring our investments are directed toward areas that truly matter.
This thoughtful approach will help us navigate uncertainties while positioning ourselves for success in 2025.

Sintered stone manufacturer Neolith has launched Calacatta Roma and Cappadocia Sunset, inspired by nature and classical architecture, and for use in kitchens or bathrooms walls, floors, in gardens or facades.
They belong to The New Classtone and Fusioncollections which interpret marble and natural stone, respectively, and boast Neolith’s antibacterial NeolEAT technology.
Inspired by Ancient Rome, Calacatta Roma (pictured top) pays homage to Italian Carrara marble, with ochre and grey veins in a white background.
While the Cappadocia region, in central Turkey, with its rock formations formed by volcanoes and underground cities, has inspired Cappadocia Sunset (pictured below).

Just like all of Neolith’s surfaces, Calacatta Roma and Cappadocia Sunset are resistant to heat and atmospheric conditions, are 100% recyclable, and do not contain added quartz to their formulation.
